It is a Continental Organisation that provides a line of Credit to the Government and private investors for housing delivery and other related infrastructure. A number of housing units have been delivered by these investors across the country. The Ministry oversees the implementation of the projects in various States of the Federation. It also represents Nigeria on the Board of the Company and attends its Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The Organisation sets global policies and strategies for human settlements development for global implementation. Nigeria is a member of the UN-HABITAT Governing Council and benefits from its technical support and funding for housing and urban development programmes.
The Alliance is a World Bank/UN-HABITAT initiative committed to the eradication of slums and poverty as part of the strategies to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Nigeria benefits from the donor funding and capacity building for slum upgrading and urban improvement programmes nationwide.
The African Ministerial Conference on Housing and Urban Development (AMCHUD) sets policies and strategies for housing and urban development for African countries. It also secures funding for housing and human settlement programmes.
